Escape to Eden Hall Day Spa this Christmas
If the thought of Christmas being just over 70 days away fills your mind with dread and ties your tummy in knots with worry, taking a little ‘me’ time in the run up to Yuletide could just be what you need to keep your mind and body fit, healthy and happy ready for the festive season.
So what better way to de-stress and unwind than with a specially designed Christmas spa experience and treatment at Eden Hall Day Spa.
Set in the heart of the country, in the tranquil village of Elston, Nottinghamshire, Eden Hall Day Spa is a beautiful Grade II listed mansion, built in 1875, surrounded by immaculate lawns and red cedar trees, which effortlessly combines the elegance of a stately home with the intimate, welcoming atmosphere of a boutique hotel.
Built over two floors, Eden Hall originally opened its doors in 2002, since then it’s under gone extensive restoration and today it looks as impressive as ever with ornate wooden ceilings, marble fireplaces, stained glass windows and orangery. Within it’s beautiful interior, Eden Hall offers a range of therapies, including a saltwater vitality pool, Aqua detox comprising of a rose-infused steam room, saunarium, sauna, herbal caldarium, aroma steam rooms and hydro jets. It also boasts two outdoor hot tubs overlooking peaceful gardens, an extensive gynamsium, exercise studio, chill-out snug, garden room and my favourite, the opulent, airy orangery.
Silent Night with Aromatherapy Associates
The experience that I had the pleasure of reviewing was the Silent Night treatment with Aromatherapy Associates, which is a relaxing full body wrap using Silent Night oil, a blend of organic essential oils camomile and vetivert, to ensure a peaceful night’s sleep.
In the capable hands of Natalie, my very friendly and knowledgeable therapist, my whole body was gently massaged with soothing Aromatherapy Associates essential oils, which are fairtrade and sustainably sourced from around the world, after which I was cocooned in a wrap and then treated to a comforting Ayurvadic scalp massage with Frankincense oil. Pure bliss!
In addition to the divine aromatherapy treatment and revigorating aqua detox, Eden Hall Day Spa also has a magnificent restaurant, Seventh Heaven, which truly lives up to it’s name. Serving a range of seasonal dishes including locally sourced meats, the three- course meal, which is included in any day-package, is sourced and prepared by their skilled chefs and served in the luxurious, intimate, chandlier-lit dining rooms, overlooking the stunning gardens. On my visit I chose a mouthwatering selection of dishes from the menu including, Locally Sourced Slow Braised Belly Pork served with Pear and Cider Vinegar Puree, followed by Tarragon Butter Chicken with Saute Oyster Mushrooms, New Potatoes, Smoked Bacon in White Wine Cream Sauce. Finally, I managed to squeeze in a delicious White Chocolate Ice Cream Cake served with Raspberries and crushed Pistachio – a delight for the eyes and mouth too, don’t you agree?
In addition to the relaxing Silent Night treatment, throughout December Eden Hall Day Spa is offering a ‘Christmas Cheers with Spa Find’ experience.
Aimed at easing away the winter chills, the treatment comprises of a warmed Spa Find Cranberry Salt back brushing to exfoliate, after which a body treatment oil is applied to relax and de-stress. Warm Dead Sea Body Mud is then brushed onto the back, alleviating aches and pains whilst nourishing the skin. To end, a blissful scalp massage.
As with the treatment I experienced, this Christmas Cheer treatment also includes full use of the saltwater therapy pool, water therapies and relaxation lounges already described above, as well as a delicious three-course lunch and very Christmassy cinnamon or gingerbread latte and festive sweet treat which is served in the sumptuous orangery.
