you would have heard me talking about eco beauty tips and products the other day.
As I’ve reach a certain age, I am becoming ever more aware about what products I am putting on my body. From face creams, to body lotions, hair care and deodorants, each of us load our bodies with potentially harmful chemicals each day - all in the name of beauty.
Fortunately, there are many options out there which are healthier for us and our pockets too. With small and large beauty product companies across the globe creating a wealth of gorgeously green products, our every beauty need is catered for with organic, renewable and sustainable alternatives.
One such company is Nunyara.
Previously known as The Green Grocery, Nunyara has been creating organic handmade balm since 2009.
A mid range brand, with the look and feel of a luxury brand, Nunyara produce a delightful range of certified organic balms for hand, body and face, as well as organic, scented body serums.
I am fortunate to have been sent a selection of products to review from Nunyara, including their Melt Away cleansing balm, Organic Hand Balm, Organic Foot Balm and my favourite, Goddess Serum and here’s what I found.
Melt Away cleansing balm. As an advocate of daily face cleansing, I found this balm to be very light to use on the skin and surprisingly ‘oil-free’. Infused with the botanical herb Roojbos, essential oil Clary Sage, Coconut oil and Flaxseed oil which is rich in Omega oil, it smells delicious and also left my skin feeling incredibly soft to touch, not something you’d usually experience after cleansing.
Next, was the Organic Hand Balm, this one I have really put to the test. As I am currently renovating my home (with the help of my partner and associated trades) this weekend was spent digging tons of soil from my garden to create a footpath around the soon to be new part of the house. As you can imagine, this labour really took its toll on my hands, even though I was wearing gloves. Needless to say, Nunyara’s Hand Balm soothed it immediately. Infused with calming Marshmallow root and Lavender, this balm contains Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil and essential oils, the 100% organic balm is quickly absorbed and leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. A must-have hand remedy for all gardening lovers.
Finally, my favourite, Organic Goddess Face Serum. Firstly, don’t you just love the name, Goddess Face Serum, this made me feel special before I even opened the bottle! When I did, I wasn’t disappointed. Packaged in a white glass bottle, with a glass pipette inside, the golden ‘elixir’ is a rich mix of five organic oils, including Almond oil and Baobab oil and is designed to be used as either a daily facial moisturizer or night time facial treat.
I have been using it both night and day and love the silky feel and ‘glow’ it gives my skin. Again, it is very light to apply, is easily absorbed and smells gorgeous, very reminiscent of luxurious ‘spa’ experiences I’ve previously enjoyed.
The serum is also infused with coffee, a natural anti-oxidant and rosehip oil which is said to reduce
fine lines and wrinkles, so it will also be interesting to note if I see a noticeable improvement in
this area, not that I have many wrinkles, of course!
It is not just their products that are ethical, Nunyara’s packaging is also ethically sourced - their external packaging is created using a by-product of the electric cable industry. How clever is that!

Definitely the Organic Hand Balm 50ml - your review was awesome and it sounds like exactly what I’m looking for. I wash my hands so much daily and even using rubber gloves for my work doesn’t help, my fingers are covered in lines and I hate that. I’ve tried so many hand lotions and potions and oils but they lose their effect after a short while so I’d love to give this a go especially since it worked whilst you were doing a renovation!
