Food waste reduction tips PLUS Foodsaver review

tips to reduce food waste

Despite the humble potato being our favourite mealtime staple, us Brits ate nearly 8% fewer fresh potatoes in 2013 than in 2012, as soaring retail prices took their toll, however, even with the rising costs and our love of spuds, the average UK family still throw away 5.8 million* perfectly edible whole potatoes every day!

Furthermore, according to the government’s waste advisory body, Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP), the average UK household throw away six meals every week, costing us almost £60 a month, that’s £720 a year*!

How can we reduce unnecessary food waste AND save ourselves money?

Easily, and to show you just how simple it is, I’ve produced a short video in which I share my top food waste reduction tips, including:-

  • Menu planning
