Green chairs for home and garden

Santos recycled plastic chairs

When choosing your perfect chair there’s so much to consider – style, functionality, comfort and price, but what about it’s environmental credentials?

I’m currently looking for some cool green chairs for my home and with a quick search online, I’ve found a gorgeous selection of eco chic chairs to choose from.

From FSC and reclaimed wood, recycled plastic and even cardboard, there’s an eco-friendly chair out there for everyone and what’s more, by making a sustainable choice, not only will you enjoy a stunning addition to your home, you’ll be sitting pretty knowing your choice of chair is kinder to the environment.

Here’s my top green picks.

For the garden

Santos recycled plastic garden chair

I love this chunky, bold Santos Recycled Plastic Chair, it would be a sure fire hit in any outdoor space. Made from recycled plastic, this solid, angular chair is completely weatherproof and will look fantastic all year round, whatever the weather. It’s also available in a variety of striking colours, so you can mix and match for a fun, contemporary look.

For the rocker

Eames RAR Rocker

The stylistic Eames Molded Plastic Rocker (RAR) is the ultimate eco-rocking experience. Made from recyclable polyproplene, the iconic, durable molded Eames seat shell with armrests is mounted on maple runners and is guaranteed to be a true classic that’ll look stunning in any environment for years to come.

For the children

Manufactured just down the road from me are Ecoseatz. Made from environmentally-friendly, heavy duty, recycled paperboard tubes, these funky chairs would look ‘epic’ (I’m told that’s the latest word) in any child’s bedroom.

Cut into shape, the cardboard tube is handpainted, fitted with an FSC chipboard seat support and upholstered with a pure wool cushion which comes in 9 colours, including cool blue, ruby red and my favourite, lime green.

For a welcome visitor

Jessie Chair bed

Finally, I couldn’t resist including this chic Chair bed, green in colour, although not ‘green’ itself, the Jessie chair bed would be ideal for smaller spaces, as an occasional bed for unexpected house guests or for a sneaky forty winks during the day, I’d be so lucky!
