Next in our series, Small Businesses that Green our World, it is our pleasure to introduce you to Aycin Wateridge, founder and owner of B Organic Skincare.
Driven by the desire to create an organic product to help with her own daughter’s eczema, Aycin created B Organics Skincare. Now with over 40 organic skincare in their range, high profile media coverage and a business award to boot, Aycin’s business is going from strength to strength.
I asked Aycin to tell us a little more about herself and her story:
I am Aycin, founder of multiple award winning B Organic Skincare. I am originally from Turkey, living in the New Forest, Hampshire with my husband Justin and our daughter Paris.
B Organic Skincare was founded after creating organic skincare and bath products without the harsh, nasty chemicals that were also suitable for Eczema and Sensitive Skin. Paris was born with severe eczema and I couldn’t find any suitable products for her on the market. I started researching what I should be doing and I teamed up with professionals who helped me to make sure all my products were safe to use.
How did you come up with the idea?
Once Paris started using my products, her skin started improving dramatically, then all my husband’s family started using my products as they all suffer with Eczema. They couldn’t believe the result and they kept asking for more and I had other people asking for my products, this is how B Organic Skincare came together.
What has been your proudest moment to date?
The proudest moment to date is being awarded Womenpreneur of the Year 2011 in June. It meant a lot to me, all the hard work finally paid off. I also felt so proud by being selected for Small Business Sunday by Theo Paphitis from Dragon’s Den.
What has been your biggest success to date?
B Organic Skincare has been set up with limited amount of money. In a short period of time my skincare has been awarded several awards as well as myself. I’ve been featured in the national press several times and we’ve been approached by a very niche Organic Store chain in Turkey and we’re in several retailers in the UK.
What are your plans for 2012?
I am planning on expanding the business. I am in talks with several big chain retailers. I’d love to see my products on their shelves. I also would like to expand the brand to other countries.
