Since completing my organic cold-pressed juice Purifyne Cleanse detox two weeks ago, I’m pleased to say that I’m continuing to lose weight and my appetite for more wholesome, natural food is growing.
To maintain my healthy eating regime and vary my mealtimes, particularly breakfast, I’m now attempting to make my own muesli and as luck would have it, I’ve just been sent a copy of Rachel Khoo’s new recipe book ‘Muesli & Granola’ which is just what I needed.
Following on from Rachel’s bestselling book and BBC series, ‘The Little Paris Kitchen’, Rachel yet again takes traditional dishes and recreates them with her own fresh, modern take.
So what can you expect to find in this book, firstly, it’s not just recipes on Muesli and Granola, although there are lots of gorgeously different recipes to try, in this book Rachel begins by going through all of the basic ingredients, explaining in detail with pictures, what they look like raw, their nutritional value and individual health benefits. From the different types of oats, spelt and buckwheat to every type of sugar, milk, nuts and how to dry your own fruit, every ingredient is comprehensively covered.
As well as Muesli and Granola, Rachel has also included some delicious muesli bar recipes (ideal for mid morning snacks or children’s packed lunches), flapjack recipes, muesli cookies and even muesli and chocolate truffles. Plus there are recipe ideas for children and for those with gluten allergies.
So if your dry toast is not quite cutting it at breakfast, this little book will help you make the most important meal of the day the tastiest.
