If you’ve been reading the press lately you may have seen that Sainsbury’s are on a mission to help households reduce food waste through their campaign, ‘Waste Less, Save More’.
As part of this campaign, in partnership with environmental communications charity Hubbub, they are launching ‘The Zero Waste Kitchen Challenge’ working with 50 families to test and evaluate the best products and interventions to help households cut food waste – and that’s where my own product, Count On It® comes in.
I am excited to announce that Count On It® labels have been selected as one of the products to take part in this campaign. Alongside a selection of existing Saisbury’s products, plus new and innovative products not currently sold by Sainsbury’s – which includes Count On It® – families will choose products to help them with planning, cooking, storage and food waste management as well as receive support and advice, motivation and workshops to increase their knowledge and skills.
What’s more, Count On It® will also be part of an Innovation Trail with South Derbyshire District Council and food waste specialists, WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) to explore the impact and difference they make in helping households reduce unnecessary food waste.
All in all, this is a very exciting time.
The ‘Zero Waste Kitchen Challenge’ campaign has just been launched in Swadlincote, Derbyshire and is scheduled to conclude in 2017. I will, of course, keep updating the blog with news of the trial, plus I will be sharing updates on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram, using the ⌗WasteLessSaveMore.
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this campaign and other other feedback you have. Also, if you’d like to share the news, that’d be brilliant too!
That’s all for now …
